BuzzKill is an app that aims to enhance your notification management experience by providing tools to filter and customize alerts based on your preferences. It offers a range of features that allow users to tailor their notification settings effectively:
- Cooldown: Prevents multiple notifications from flooding your device when an individual messages you rapidly.
- Custom Alert: Enables the setting of unique sounds or vibration patterns for specific contacts or phrases.
- Dismiss: Allows users to automatically swipe away unwanted notifications while retaining visibility for relevant alerts from the same app.
- Reply: Can send automatic responses to messages that go unanswered for a set duration.
- Remind Me: Continuously prompts you until you acknowledge a notification.
- Undo: Offers a second chance to interact with a notification if it’s mistakenly swiped away.
- Snooze: Groups notifications into batches, allowing them to be delivered according to your schedule.
- Alarm: Can grab your attention for critical notifications, such as those from security cameras.
- Secret: Provides an option to hide the content of notifications for privacy.
- And many more...
The app emphasizes privacy, with a commitment to not using ads, trackers, or sharing data outside your device. Notably, BuzzKill operates without internet access, ensuring users' data remains secure.
No free trial is available due to the lack of internet connectivity for purchase verification. However, if you are unsatisfied with your purchase and are outside Google's return period, you can contact support through the app for a refund.
For Wear OS users, BuzzKill includes a companion app that enables triggering specific actions on your watch based on phone-based rules. For instance, an alarm can be set on your watch in response to particular notifications.
The app also features an optional Accessibility Service API, which automates actions on your device, such as tapping buttons in notifications without collecting any data. This service is not mandatory unless utilized in specific rules.
Regarding phone calls, BuzzKill's capabilities are limited compared to notifications. Users cannot customize vibrations or sounds for calls; however, the unsilence rule can allow phone calls to break through based on criteria such as time, location, or calling number.
